BEHIND THE MANDALA'S
MEET THE ATIST
TAL POLLAK
Tal Pollak is a South Devon based artist located in Cornworthy, creating sculptural mandalas from gathered woodland materials.
What began as a personal, reflective practice outdoors has evolved into a refined body of work defined by patience and attention. His approach is grounded and intentional, shaped by time spent observing pattern, rhythm and form within nature itself.
His pieces are both intimate and architectural. Fragile in material, yet enduring in presence.

PROCESS
Each element is gathered by hand and carefully sorted in the studio. Shape, tone and texture are studied before placement begins.
The composition builds slowly from a central point, expanding outward in measured symmetry. Layer upon layer, the work develops depth, shadow and subtle movement. There is no rush in this process. Every decision is deliberate.
Once complete, the mandala is secured and housed within a deep frame, allowing the natural materials to sit in quiet relief. The result is a three dimensional work that carries both structure and softness.
No two pieces can ever be recreated.

Philosophy
Organic Symmetry
At the heart of his practice is a simple principle: to work only with what the land has already released. Fallen leaves. Weathered bark. Seed forms shaped by time. Nothing is taken prematurely. Nothing is manufactured.
By preserving fragile natural elements within balanced geometric structures, Tal creates a quiet tension between delicacy and permanence. The work holds what would otherwise fade, inviting the viewer to pause and notice the intelligence already present in the natural world.
